MEET BROOKE 

Traditional Values with a Modern Approach

Brooke comes from a multigenerational family of Florida natives from the central gulf coast of Florida.  She is the great-granddaughter of  Florida Agricultural Hall of Fame Inductee, Robert "Bob" Whisenant, who revolutionaized commercial farming with his development of irrigations systems. Her family's history is rich in citrus farming, commercial fishing, recreational boating and hunting, education, and politics.

 

Brooke's fate as a Leon County resident was sealed at the age of fifteen when she served as a Senate Page for Senator Michael Bennett during the legislative session. It was at this time she committed herself to attend The Florida State University, major in Political Science and Public Policy, and work in our state's capital city.  Since moving to Leon County, Brooke has worked for Rep. Steve Southerland, The Republican Party of Florida, Governor Rick Scott's Office of Policy and Budget, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation.

 

Brooke now proudly serves in the Strategic Management Office of the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles while working towards her Master's in Public Administration specialilzing in Environmental Policy at Florida State University.

 

She is also a proud mom to her rescue hound, Jefferson.
